CentralNic (AIM: CNIC), a world leader in domain name and internet services, announced today the appointment of Colin Mullane in the role of Channel Development Manager, overseeing the UK and North American registrar markets for CentralNic’s registry and registry backend provider businesses.

Colin was previously Channel Relations Manager at Nominet, the registry for the .uk country code Top-Level-Domain, where he worked since July 2008.

“We are absolutely delighted to have Colin join us as our registry backend business continues to gain market share,” said Ben Crawford, CentralNic CEO. “With his deep knowledge of the industry and excellent relationships among the registrar community, he is a welcome addition to this rapidly growing part of our business.”

According to the industry statistics website nTLDstats, TLDs using CentralNic are available through more registrars than any others. As well as new gTLDs, CentralNic supplies registrars globally with domains using such extensions as uk.com, us.com, eu.com, .la and .pw – which enjoy greater numbers of registrations than 95% of the new TLDs.
