Global bars and restaurants set to benefit from newly released pool of .bar and .rest domains

Source: CentralNic, October 17, 2016

The food and beverage TLDs .rest and .bar will release over 20,000 previously unavailable domains, including valuable keywords, geographics, numerics and category killers, for general registration through accredited registrars on October 19. At least 50% of the new name pool will be made available at standard pricing while names like tapas.bar, rock.bar, manhattan.bar, asian.rest,, pho.rest and grill.rest will follow a tiered premium pricing model.

“We are thrilled to announce the availability of a great number of .rest and .bar premium names at accessible prices in order to enable SMEs worldwide to reach their maximum potential”, said Aaron Grego, CEO of Punto.

“With the ongoing proliferation of the bars and restaurants across the globe, there is sure to be demand in the market with a fresh pool of short, meaningful and competitive domains through which companies can assert a strongly defined and highly marketable digital presence, and at a reasonable price”, said Ben Crawford, CEO of CentralNic.

Punto plans to support the release with an industry targeted awareness campaign.

The release will be made exclusively available to registrars integrated with CentralNic, the registry’s technical backend provider. Registrars who wish to integrate with CentralNic and leverage the premium release are invited to contact sales[at]centralnic.com.
